RUFFLES ARE A HOT TREND in designer handbags. One of the most romantic and feminine handbags of my choice is the Yves Saint Laurent St. Tropez with soft leather ruffles on both sides. This bag has been offered in various materials such as patent leather, crinkle leather and even with mink fur. A friend of mine has the basic black YSL St Tropez pictured below (top left). It’s beautiful.

But not every gal has spare $895 to buy a bag, and I deeply believe that savvy style does not have to cost an arm and a leg. So while browsing Urban Outfitters the other day, I found this Duex Lux Ruffle Bucket Tote that is very similar to the YSL style for only $68 . What a deal! Granted it is faux leather, not the soft leather like the YSL St. Tropez, but I adore the silhouette rand the girly ruffled look regardless.

British singer Leona Lewis was recently spotted at the airport carrying a Deux Lux Ruffle Bucket Bag in Peach, available from Urban Outfitters. Well that sealed the deal! if it’s good enough for Leona, it’s good enough for me. The Duex Lux Ruffle Bag is also available in Black and a beautiful “Seafoam” Green.

This polyurethane purse features a cascading row of ditsy floral-backed ruffle trim and matching floral lining, a zippered main compartment, and is finished with padded handles. And what does a bag like this cost? A mere $68 from Urban Outfitters. 68! A steal of a deal! I ordered one in Seafoam for summer. This bag a darling and I love it! It has quickly become one of my personal favorites.

Fashion Tip: Wear a ruffled accessory the same way you’d wear an animal print – one item at a time. Never wear a ruffled shirt with a ruffled handbag or shoes as that’s matching overkill. Less of a good thing is always more.
